Highway 61 Revisited- Bob Dylan- got it already and enjoyed another listen. I've got a couple of James Brown CDs, which is enough. I wrote on another thread you're know what you're going to get with the hardest working man in show business. If I saw it at a thrift would probably pick it up for their killer version of Curtis Mayfield's Freddies Dead. All over the place, it reminds me of the Clash's London calling with all sorts of styles. A wide variety of genres from almost speed metal, ska, frat boy (blink 182 type), reggae material. The brass is tight and it is a superbly recorded album for 1959. Not a genre I'd usually consider, then I realized I owned the Blues Brothers album. The Atomic Mr Basie - Count Basie & His Orchestra. If you threw Radiohead, Kraftwerk, Whitney Houston, Grace Jones and Dee-Lite into a blender, this may be the result. "Cold War" and "Mushroom & The Rose" are stand out tracks. ![]() ![]() A concept album with a wide variety of styles from neo-psych to straight ballads, R&B, pure pop and everything in between. Some great deep cuts I hadn't heard before.
